 Postdoctoral Positions in Cognitive Development

Cognitive Development Lab

Directed by Dr. Vladimir Sloutsky

Department of Psychology and Center for Cognitive Science

The Ohio State University

We anticipate 3 postdoctoral positions, starting date flexible, to work
collaboratively on research investigating cognitive development in infants
and young children. Specific questions include the role of attention in
cross-modal processing, word learning, and categorization. The project will
use a variety of behavioral, psychophysiological, and neuroscience
methodologies, including eye tracking, heart rate analyses, and ERP. Two of
these researchers will work in Vladimir Sloutsky’s lab (
http://cogdev.cog.ohio-state.edu/) and one of the researchers will work
collaboratively with Vladimir Sloutsky and Gary Berntson (
http://faculty.psy.ohio-state.edu/berntson/).

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in developmental or cognitive psychology,
cognitive science or in a related field, a strong research record, and
experience working with infants and/or young children. Experience and
interest in psychophysiology (eye tracking, heart rate analyses, or ERP) is
a plus.

Interested persons should send a cover letter, research statement, CV.
Please indicate in your cover letter who will be writing your letters of
reference. We will start reviewing applications in mid-April, 2009;
applications will be accepted until the positions are filled.

Please send initial inquiries and application materials via email (
sloutsky.1@osu.edu), with hard copies to follow via postal mail. Please send
hard copies of application materials to:
