Yes, orientalism's 'othering' to colonialise - Said expressed that so clearly describing Napoleon 'recording Egypt', with geographers, doctors, philosophers - all sciences and arts - a survey, for the benefit of Europeans - writ large : the status and display, 'the power and prestige of a Modern European Country'.
